Live Missouri Report….

Just off the water after a long day of great trout fishing on the Missouri. Weather was great, no wind and the trout were eating. Nymphing was solid…. there were a few slow periods but switching up tactics would pull a few more fish on the slow times. If that failed…. Push! Push and ding some new water. What water? Knee deep riffles were stuffed with fish, heads of riffles held the biggest trout, hard rip rap banks and drops. Bugs? Baetis flavors and midge flavors. How about caddis? I didn’t get any eats on the caddis. Dries? Yup! Great dry fly fishing today. Look for the heads, hit a reach cast, fly first and slow hook set and it’s on. Small single midge patterns worked best with a few Baetis spinner eats thrown in.
Spring special still going on for the next two weeks. 399 full day and 299 half days.
